- Darjeeling is a semi-transparent, rich, warm mid-brown stain with a dark glaze on elm veneer that hangs up in the open grain. The low sheen gives it a weathered look that is enhanced by distressing, both on the wood and at the finish level. The finish distressing includes moderate spatter, cow tailing, hand padding, and dry brushing. The physical distressing includes softened corners and edges, moderate chisel, awl marks, and moderate rasping giving it a well-used antique look.
