Does Ethan Allen have platform beds?

Though we currently do not offer true platform beds, we do have an option that will help you create that low-profile look you’re going for. We suggest using our Ultra-Low Bunkie Board Foundation in place of a box foundation. The Bunkie board only adds 1.75” to the height of your mattress, while still providing the support you need. Our Emmett Metal bed, Blythe Arch-Top Metal bed, and Hunstville bed are great styles for this solve.

Are Ethan Allen wood beds made responsibly?

The wood for many of our beds comes from two sources: logs that we’ve milled in the Beecher Falls, Vermont, or lumber that has been quality-checked by our inspectors in Old Fort, North Carolina, who are certified by the National Hardwood Lumber Association (NHLA). In addition, we use low-HAP and low-VOC coatings that help keep the air cleaner.

How do I choose a mattress for a wood bed?

Which wood beds are good for larger spaces?

Sleigh beds, beds with upholstered headboards, and storage beds tend to take up more space and therefore are better for larger rooms. Do wood beds squeak?

Because of their solid wood platform, wood beds don’t make noise. The beds that do are composed of multiple assembled pieces. The more parts, the more chances a bed will squeak.

Can I use a motion base with a metal bed frame?

Yes, our Blythe and Emmett beds are compatible with motion bases.

Can I use a metal bed in a small apartment?

Yes. They make a great style choice for smaller areas because their open “negative space” designs make them appear to take up less footage.

How do I choose a mattress for a metal bed?

Can metal beds get damaged easily?

Metal beds aren’t easily scratched or nicked. Plus, they are easy to maintain, requiring just a wipe down with a soft cloth to keep them looking like new.

Are metal beds sturdy?

Metal beds have compact, sturdy designs, which gives them added strength. This also makes them heavier than beds constructed of other materials.
