Ancient earthenware sculptures date back to the Tang Dynasty and are still revered today. They were placed in the tombs of emperors and aristocrats to serve spirits in the afterworld. In our interpretation, a woman with clasped hands is shown in floral garb with shoes peeping out from beneath her hemline. Unglazed, the earthenware figure has the look of an authentic Chinese artifact and adds a global perspective to a home interior.
