    This mixed media presentation on watercolor paper includes color photography, paint, and silvered foil leafing. The deep box profile is lined completely, its back as well as its sides, in archival quality matting. The art floats slightly above the matting and just short of the sides of the frame. The UV protected glass and solid wood frame help to protect the artwork.

  • about the artist

    Liz Rider was born in October 1977 in Cleveland, Ohio. She and her family moved to Atlanta, Georgia when she was just five years old. Through her schooling, Liz was consistently regarded as the most artistically gifted student in her class. At the same young age, Rider also exhibited a great talent for the sport of tennis. She proceeded to tour the country for almost a decade exposing her to the diverse, exotic palettes of American landscapes. She would sketch and paint these landscapes whenever she found time. Rider decided in her late teens that the forging of a piece of art from a blank canvas fulfilled her more than a tennis match. Rider applied and was offered a full scholarship in painting and photography at the University of Georgia at Athens and graduated with honors three years later. Riders’ art is known to bring out the simple brilliance of a natural scene while also seeing within that landscape primitive abstract forms. Rider currently works out of her studios in Athens and Atlanta.
