  • about the artist

    Scott Hile was born in Sydney, Nebraska, and at nine years old moved with his family to the Southwestern United States though he returned to spend summers on his grandfather’s farm. After graduation from high school, Scott tried many professions including construction, masonry, and oyster farming, but none of them left him feeling fulfilled. It was then, with the support of his parents, that he made the decision to pursue an art career. After several years at a gallery he is now working full-time at an art house. Scott’s preference for abstract art allows him to use acrylics to paint on different media, including paper, canvas, wood and metal. It is not until the painting is almost complete that Scott says its message comes through to him; however, he prefers the viewer to determine their own message. Scott is married with four children and eight grandchildren; they keep him busy and happy, as do his hobbies: swimming, cooking, hiking, camping, and photography.
