  • description

    This hand-embellished giclée on canvas, by Fressinier, is stretched onto a solid wood stretcher for stability then framed. The liner is covered by hand in ivory raw silk which complements both the frame and art. The large scaled frame is constructed from solid wood and is decorated with raised panel. The Renaissance-inspired panel is finished in a burnished silver with subtle undertones of aged gold; these combinations are a perfect complement to the worn and distressed ivory finish applied to the outer areas of the frame.

  • about the artist

    Fressinier, who was born in France, studied at the Brassard School in Tours. His works are largely influenced by the great portrait painter Anthony van Dyke and the brilliant Leonardo da Vinci. Fressinier enjoys the joie de vivre of the Renaissance painters and describes the vibrant palettes and voluptuous figures found in these works as “glorious” and “classical.” The artist greatly enjoys the process by which each painting is realized; he does little sketching beforehand, each day allowing the painting to speak to him as it develops, not forcing anything to the canvas. Fressinier enjoys his children and gardening during his time away from the studio and says that his wife is his greatest admirer as well as his muse.
