    Windrider, by Karen Dupre, is a mixed media painting on canvas. It is framed with two separate profiles, a linen liner and then accented with a fillet. Both frames and the fillet are made of solid wood and adorned with heavy patina and hand embellishing by skilled artisans.

  • about the artist

    Karen Dupre is a self-taught artist who was born in southern California; her earliest inspiration was her interest in horses. At age nine, Karen began working in pastels and soon progressed into the use of other mediums, primarily acrylic paints. Karen’s broad repertoire includes landscapes, still-life imagery, and figures, as well as the wildlife that first sparked her imagination; her paintings reflect her versatility. Karen’s work captures a fleeting moment in time and transports the viewer there.
