    The patterns for the blue and white porcelain series were chosen upon our designers’ return from visits to Canton and Macau. All motifs and patterns in this collection are typical of export ware, which was a specialized type of goods with an origin traced back to the seventeenth century. It reached its peak of popularity in the nineteenth century thanks to Westerners want of all things Eastern. The term export ware actually came from items such as these that were explicitly produced for export to Europe and the Americas. Over time, the motifs and scenes depicted on these pieces were altered to incorporate more Western design into them.
