So exciting! This is our fifth consecutive year partnering on the HGTV Dream Home. We always get a thrill seeing our furniture and decorative accessories inside but this year’s home is particularly special.
The HGTV Dream Home 2011, furnished by Ethan Allen: A majestic mountain retreat where modern architecture meets chic rustic style.
The nearly 3,400-square-foot marvel happens to be located in Vermont, where Ethan Allen opened its first manufacturing facility and sawmill nearly eighty years ago. We’ve been producing furniture here ever since, so we’re downright tickled that the home’s “made in Vermont” heritage extends beyond its foundation. There is an array of locally made Ethan Allen furnishings throughout – look for the Barrett canopy bed and demilune tables in the master bedroom and the Tanner pedestal table and Crawford bookcase in the living area, to name a few.
The starting point for the interior design was the stunning mountain landscape, which is the focal point of nearly every room thanks to the home’s many floor-to-ceiling windows. With a gourmet kitchen, three bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, and several creatively designed living spaces, the HGTV Dream Home presented a fabulous platform for showcasing our diverse styles of furniture and accessories.
The Gathering Room, which is at the heart of the home, features the colors naturally on view outside. Linda Woodrum, interior designer for the HGTV Dream Home 2011, successfully created a space whose design connects to the outdoors during the fall and provides a warm, cozy respite through the winter. Our easygoing Bryant sofa, with casually placed throws and pillows, supports the relaxed vibe of this space, while modern accessories like our Metal Wall Sculptures add visual punch.
The comfortable chic style continues in the Annex, where four Bentley recliners and our Multi Color Blocks rug come together to form an inviting nook for reading or relaxing. It flows into the kids’ bunkroom too: The Ski Dorm has four sets of Dylan bunk beds to accommodate eight for the ultimate slumber party.
The Master Bedroom, Dining Room, and Kitchen pay homage to the home’s architectural details. The striking Barrett canopy bed and a pair of graphic Parker chairs mirror the clean lines of the bedroom’s dramatic windows. In the dining room, our Parson’s Leg dining table (also made in Vermont) is surrounded by ten chrome and leather Sutton chairs, while the kitchen boasts a similar color scheme for a juxtaposition of modern and rustic – just like the home’s enchanting façade.
And the beauty and style goes on in the Living Area, Guest Bedroom, and bathrooms – even outdoors, where you’ll see our Biscayne collection on the decks and near the stone terrace’s outdoor kitchen.
