Hi, I’m Marta and this is Ethan Allen Express. For the Modern lifestyle, we started with a foundation of soft creams and oatmeal. Although the palette is neutral, we selected fabrics with interesting textures and tones that complement the modern silhouettes of our upholstery. The fabrics are also the perfect counterpoint to the rich Espresso finish of our case goods. We also chose modern art throughout the story. The art further defines our color palette. Shades of soft turquoise and sea glass are infused into the story to give a serene and relaxing feel. The use of this color palette was also brought in through our decorative pillows. We also used a fluffy shag rug which adds texture and softness underfoot for this relaxed lifestyle. The sisal-style rug in the dining room adds texture to this sleek space. Simple accents were used to complete the look. Here it’s all about scale, shape, and an interesting mix of materials. We used glass, aluminum, and porcelain pieces. The minimalist styling and generous proportions make a decidedly modern statement. I chose a light-filled, airy space to showcase these modern pieces. The entire space exudes a spare minimalism with a restful vibe. The architecture is an interesting play of shapes and angles which complement this setting beautifully.
