Artist Biography

Akiko Hiromoto was born in Japan but now lives in U.S. Her work is about the exploration of process and color. Her signature technique is to build up and then scrape away paint to excavate the image within. Akiko finds inspiration in fabric patterns, weavings, found objects and images, and the unique color patterns she encounters during her travels and daily life.
