Jody Morlock has eyes like a lens on a Super 8 camera. When they are not busy devouring the colored world, her brain is busy selecting, grouping, and organizing the beauty and chaos of a complicated world. She is a constant gatherer whose work is influenced by African and Egyptian art, fetishism, graffiti, fashion, advertising, architecture, photography, and movies. Her paintings have been described as "ironic, playful, schizophrenic, dark, and funny." She considers art her narcotic of choice and her work "stories" through which she bears her soul.
