Product Details

Vitality is vivid, spirited, and effervescent, bold, bright, and a little giddy. Mr. Shelton expresses joy and freedom in strong, saturated colors to quicken the heart and bring a smile to any face. The original is oil on canvas, with heavy paint build-up adding texture and plays of light. This giclée on canvas has also been augmented by the artist; slight variations from the artist's brushwork make each piece unique.

Artist Biography

Shelton's first creative influences came from the landscape of the American Southwest where he was raised. He was educated in fine art at Arizona State University and completed further coursework in painting and other techniques in California. Shelton's passion for travel has taken him around the world and feeds his creative process. Thailand, Florence, Vienna, Prague, and Amalfi coast are some of his favorite retreats. Shelton's complex layering of paint, images, iconography, and other media builds fantastic worlds in which a balance is struck between antiquity and modernism.
