Cultural salute. Abounding with Mexican influence, this serape, or long rectangular shawl, uses an animal motif to convey an appreciation for native folk art. Original artwork by Mexican-born painter Alfredo Arreguin, who currently resides in Seattle, Washington.
Alfredo Arreguin was born in Mexico but moved to Seattle at the age of 23. He has a BA and an MFA from the University of Washington.
